High School / Present Day Meme

This has been going around LJ and other places, and it's so amusing to see other people's, that I sketched a quickie in the ever-present big black book. I didn't start using the big sketchbooks until college, so I guess it's not fair to give one to my high school self.

The high school me is Amy circa 1991-92.

Some things never change--red lipstick, mary janes, black clothing, skirts and cardigans, and I'm still about the same size.

Oh how lovely!! The main difference with myself now and when I was at school is my hair. When I was younger, I vowed never to have my hair down as it would get in my way and pigtails were so much nicer haha! ... but now, all I ever do is have my hair down as I can't be bothered spending the time tieing it up!

It's funny--I really thought I had changed so much, but there's really a lot of elements that have stayed the same. And I cut my hair off years ago for the same reason--I can't stand to have my hair in my way.

That is a great sketch(es)! I wont be mentioning my high school years as I'd rather forget them!

Well, I never said they were GOOD (fashion)years, but you have to admit they're amusing.
I'm sure your time in high school wasn't THAT bad :)

and you did look good in high school you know, unlike me. i wouldn't care to look back on how gawky and nerdy i was in high school!

Why, thank you! I had too much fun with this sketch, definitely.

Oh, yeah--I was a TOTAL nerd in high school. I'm still a complete and utter geek, but I don't care. I love it. Geeks rule.

That is so funny. I must do one of myself. I went from overalls and tie dye shirts, to majorly flaired jeans and midriff bearing tops and now its either A line everything or dresses with jeans. BTW I love the bonus painting. It feels really cool to be number one collector of Amy art, haha. I have this frame that houses 9 of your 4x6 drawings/ paintings and i needed just one more to have it complete and that was the missing piece. Thanks Amy. Very unexpected and completely wonderful!
