You are Cordially Invited:

I'm nervous. Not about the show, but I've been asked to speak about my work. I've never given an artist's talk before and I'm not good at that sort of thing. Especially in front of other artists. I hope I can pull it off.
"Uh, I like to paint ... and stuff..."

Hi Amy,
I'm sure you'll be great! I used to have to do a lot of public speaking where I used to work and once I got going, everything was fine. Just remember that you know more about your art than anyone else does, so there will be no questions that you can't answer! :) Also, I'm sure people will think it's neat to meet you so no matter what you say, people will be excited to "meet the artist" :)

How exciting! You're sincere, and your work is sincere, so you'll do great- even if you just say "Hi My name is Amy and I like to paint..."

You can do it! If I did it, you can! 2 glasses of wine helped too. = )

We are so proud. You will do fine as you always do. Just be your beautiful self. Your beauty will shine through and people will fall in love with your work and your words.

Love you very much,
Mom & Dad

Miss Amy!
How incredibly exciting for you. I wish I would be able to see your show and hear you speak, but unless I can figure out a way to send part of me there while the rest of me stays here, well...dang! Also, just so you know, it has been Very Hard not visiting your Etsy shop! I miss my biweekly Fabulous Art and Amy Fix! Hope all is well your way (which it sounds like it is!!!) and I hope the show goes splendidly. Have a Wonderful summer!

Aww, thanks guys! I wish everybody could be there--it'd make it a lot more fun. I dropped the rest of the paintings off today at the gallery, and Kelly seemed really happy with them. And I already sold two!

Your art speaks for itself and all you have to do is speak about something you love!
Just take a deep breath, count to ten, and remember that "this too shall pass".
You're a very gifted artist and you'll do just fine!
Good luck with the show, Amy -- wish I could be there!

Well I dont envy you about having to speak about the work but since most people out there are artists and thinking the same thing they probably wont be so critical. your work is so awesome/wonderful they'll want to hear what you have to say and probably have lots of questions for you :)

Oh wow! I'm so happy for you. Good luck!.. and to be honest, if you did just say you like to paint, I'd personally find it very endearing and honest.

..who needs all that extra jargon!
