Omaha Road Trip

We had ourselves a 42 hour vacation and spent that brief time in Omaha. Neither Ricky nor I had ever been and since it's only three hours away, well, there you go. Everyone told us we had to visit the zoo, so we planned that for Saturday. Other than that, we just wanted to walk around downtown and the Old Market and do some record shopping. The town is okay, a lot like Kansas City architecturally, with some wonderful old buildings. And the zoo was really great. I don't know if we'll go back, though--I think we saw everything we'd be interested in this weekend.
There's a lot more photos at my Flickr, should you care to view them.

Geodesic Dome!

It was a long day at the zoo

I love the sea dragon

Pretty garden in the zoo, full of plants and fountains, and birds...

The weather was absolutely fantastic the whole time we were there, and we found a place that sells "retro" candy and they had Walnettos! They're just so good.
We found some records and ate a lot of pasta and grilled cheese. (There are a lot of steakhouses in Omaha.)

It's funny how sometimes you can live so close to a place and never visit it. That is a sweet picture of the family and I like the image of Ester who's about ready for a nap:) Bet it's great to be home!

It's funny how even a short break makes you appreciate your own bed! It was nice to get home, but we still had a fun weekend. I'm about to bust out laughing in the hotel picture because E is going on and on about all the faces she's going to make for the camera.

You 3 make such an adorable family. I must say that I love your hair. I always wished i could pull off a hair cut like that. I would go for a platinum blonde or jet black bob. Don't tell Mr. X I said that though haha

Heehee, thanks! I keep thinking I need to do something different with my hair--it's been this way for ten years or so. But every time I grow it all out, I end up bobbing it again.
So when do we get to learn more about your Mr X? I'm so intrigued!
