Powell Gardens

Today my neighbor and I took the girls to Powell Gardens, a botanical garden southeast of KC. I'd been wanting to go for a while and this was my first chance. It was wonderful--so many incredible plants, even at this time of year. I've got so many ideas for future plantings!

There was a fountain for the kids to play in. I'm glad we brought dry clothes!

There were butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds all over the place! I'd love to go back and do some painting. They've got some great color and texture combinations.

Such great pictures! My husband and I went out there to see the butterflies recently and had fun (this post). It was hot, though. The fountain felt good!

Thanks Kristiane! I wish we could have been there for the butterflies--the girls were slightly disappointed. But the gardens are so cool (and the fountain, of course) that it really didn't matter. I loved it!

Thanks! Aren't those lilies fantastic?! Makes me wish I had a big enough yard for a pond...

What a beautiful place! its been ages since I was in Kansas City (I brought a doll with me if that tells you how long!) but I remember it being so beautiful, with cobble stone and street cars. That garden is gorgeous! Sounds like you guys had a great time!~
