It's so big it won't even fit on my easel. I have to prop it against the wall, sitting on a couple of boxes. To back up enough to see the whole thing, I have to pick it up and move it to the other end of the room.
Two days later, her features start to flesh out and decisions are being made. I still can't decide on her clothing: what style, what era, what color. I'm stuck.
Another pitfall of painting on a large scale: I got too focused on her right eye and as a result, didn't realize the left was off. Just slightly, but enough to bug me. So that's what I'll fix next time.
And here's a much smaller piece that was in my Etsy shop (and just sold, yay!):

She's looking gorgeous! I love how big paintings make big statements, but I dont do them much anymore either. There's the space, and sometimes I feel like my attention span can't take a large painting any more ;) Thanks too for including me in your treasury today! What a lovely collection!~
So neat how real the eyes look.
Amy, I am a huge fan of your work! I have a couple of your cards in my home and regularly check in here to see what you are up to. I added a link to your blog on mine at www.garnetgoldman.blogspot.com. Your new work is beautiful and so in keeping with the magic of all your other pieces.
