Finally, Another Etsy Update (And Blog Post)

"Idle Heart"
Ink and watercolor on paper, 2.5 x 3.5 inches

Hee hee. I am REALLY bad at blogging. But I am a busy lady and I'll use any excuse to back up my procrastinative tendencies. And I know procrastinative isn't a real word; there's no adjective form of "procrastinate", but I think it works. So again, any excuse...

I'm having a shop update this Friday, April 20th at 2pm central time. There's a real mix of things this time: nocturnes and portraits, oils and watercolors, ACEOs and more. Here's a peek at a few new things.

"Sclera"
oil on illustration board, 2x2 inches

"Nocturne No. 73"
oil on illustration board, 5x7 inches

"I Can't Keep You in My Mind"
oil on birch panel, 4x4 inches

"Fables"
oil on canvas, 2.5 x 3.5 inches

"Nocturne No. 72"
oil on illustration board, 4x6 inches

So now I'm looking, and I love how dark you can get with the watercolor. I am always trying to get my students to understand how to achieve value, and they sometimes just can't get there without overworking.

Thanks Ned! Watercolor has to be one of the most difficult mediums I've ever worked with; so easy to go overboard with it and screw the whole piece up. I just keep looking at other people's techniques and try new stuff. I like this guy's work: http://studiorayyan.com
